In the first place, this competition is divided into two stages: the preliminary round and the final round. Each academic department completed the preliminary selection on May 25th. After being strictly evaluated by the English teaching group teachers, a total of 18 outstanding contestants stood out and were selected to participate in the final round held on June 13th in the afternoon. Meanwhile, the competition was jointly organized by the International Department and the English teaching groups of each academic department. Also, five foreign teachers, namely Tim, Kurt, Cam, William, and John, were specially invited to form a professional judging panel. The scores were given fairly and impartially throughout the process.

In the second place, the final was conducted in a speech without notes. The scoring was based on five aspects as follows: pronunciation and intonation, fluency of expression, content of the speech, stage performance, and duration control. Besides, the scoring method was to remove the highest and lowest scores and then calculate the average. The competition also set up special awards, first prizes, and second prizes. The winner of the special prize would receive a custom trophy. Moreover, all the participants would have the precious opportunity to take a photo with the foreign teachers, making this encouragement even more memorable and full of a sense of ceremony.

In the third place, the atmosphere at the finals was extremely lively. Teachers, students and parents all gathered at the venue to witness the wonderful performances of the contestants. What's more, the bilingual hosts made a dazzling appearance, introducing the competition rules and the judging panel. In the meantime, the foreign teacher representative delivered a heartwarming message, encouraging the students to express themselves boldly and showcase themselves.

In the fourth place, according to the draw schedule before the competition, the contestants took the stage one by one. Centered around the theme "I Represent Anqing Foreign Language School", they all spoke in pure and fluent English about their school life, sharing their growth experiences, and expressing their love for Anqing Foreign Language School, during which some were passionate and full of youthful vigor; others were calm and gentle, with sincere and touching words. Obviously, smooth expression, confident stage presence, and skillful on-the-spot performance fully demonstrated the solid English proficiency and positive spirit of the students of Anqing Foreign Language School.

In the fifth place, the foreign judges listened attentively and gave detailed scores. At the end of the competition, they provided bilingual comments (in both Chinese and English) based on the overall performance of the contestants, which not only recognized the hard work and courage of the contestants over the past days on the stage, but also gave targeted suggestions for improvement. Thus, this entire competition was not just a contest of language skills, but also a communication of ideas and a concentrated display of youthful charm. Accordingly, every speech was full of sincerity, every expression shining with brilliance. On the other hand, the audience's applause was continuous, and the atmosphere was lively. There were winners and losers in the competition, however, growth has no end. No matter what the final result was, every contestant who bravely stepped onto the stage had gained progress through challenges and enhanced confidence through experiences. Therefore, this all-out effort has become a precious memory in everyone's youth.

In the sixth place, at the end of the event, the foreign teacher Tim gave a summary and evaluation of this English speech Competition, explaining that this competition was scored strictly according to the standards of professional English speech events. Moreover, judgments were made from multiple aspects such as the content of the speech, logical structure, pronunciation and intonation, language usage, and stage performance. The scoring scale was more rigorous and professional than that in regular classroom presentations. Therefore, some students felt that the low scores were normal and there was no need to be discouraged or negative about themselves. Correspondingly, this result merely objectively reflected the shortcomings of everyone in the current professional speech scenarios, rather than an ultimate evaluation of English proficiency.

In the seventh place, Tim highly affirmed the efforts and courage of all the contestants, praising the students for their bravery in stepping onto the stage, their diligent preparation, and their active display of themselves, because students demonstrated excellent English proficiency and a positive attitude. Additionally, Tim encouraged everyone to take this competition as an opportunity to carefully review their shortcomings, accumulate experience, and continue practicing. Also, students should constantly refine their oral expression and stage performance skills, striving to break through themselves, growing steadily in future studies, and aiming to achieve even more incredible performances on various stages in the future.

In the eighth place, after a fierce competition and the rigorous comprehensive evaluation by the judging panel, all the awards of this "Hongcheng Cup" English Speech Contest have been announced. The list of winners is as follows:

More remarkably, the "I Represent Anqing Foreign Language School" English Speech Contest has successfully come to an end, which not only provided a high-quality platform for students to display themselves and enhance their abilities, but also infused a strong atmosphere of English learning throughout the campus.

In a nutshell  may all the students of Anqing Foreign Language School take this competition as a new beginning, always maintaining their enthusiasm for learning, being brave to speak and willing to express themselves, and constantly improving their language skills.
